Welcome to West End
A charming historic district on the edge of Downtown
Greenville’s West End Historic District is a charming neighborhood full of pedestrian-friendly streets and bustling shops. As one of Greenville’s handful of historic districts, this quaint, urban corner of Downtown makes a name for itself with vibrant amenities and entertainment, as well as beautiful architecture and a storied past.
West End was inhabited decades before, but it truly began to thrive when both Furman University and the Greenville and Columbia Railroad arrived in the 1850s. It has fluctuated throughout the years, playing home to everything from textile mills to soft drink manufacturing. The residential and commercial areas have thrived since it was declared a historic district in 1993, and current city plans are underway to help the West End evolve into a dynamic entertainment hub full of luscious green spaces.
Because of its status as a historic district, West End boasts many beautiful homes. However, as the neighborhood continues to evolve, there are also many luxurious condos to be found in renovated historic buildings. Finding a home that is steps from the excitement and culture is easy in this charming area.
